One Piece Season 2: The Straw Hat Enters the Grand Line
The journey has changed scale. Season 2 takes Luffy into the Grand Line, and with him goes the same straw hat that carries the weight of a promise, a lineage, and a world.
The Grand Line is no longer just a line on a map.
As of today, One Piece Season 2 is live on Netflix. Eight new episodes. New islands. New enemies. And the same straw hat — the one that has carried Luffy from a small village in East Blue to the most dangerous sea in the world.
We know that hat well. We made it.
Into the Grand Line
Season 2 picks up where the first left off: Loguetown, the town where the Pirate King was born and executed. From there, Luffy and his crew cross Reverse Mountain and enter the Grand Line — a stretch of ocean that separates the dreamers from everyone else.
For those who watched Season 1, you already know the weight of what Luffy carries on his head. The hat is not decoration. It is the physical shape of a promise made to Shanks — a promise to return it when the journey is complete.
That journey just got harder.
What makes Season 2 different
The first season was about assembling a crew. Five strangers becoming something more. Season 2 is about what happens when the world pushes back.
New characters enter the story. Tony Tony Chopper — the reindeer doctor with his own iconic hat — joins the crew on Drum Island. The mysterious agents of Baroque Works appear. Vivi, a princess hiding in plain sight, asks for help that could cost everyone everything.
But through it all, the straw hat remains. Worn, battered, stitched back together more than once. It is the one constant in a world that keeps shifting beneath Luffy's feet.
The real Luffy hat behind Season 2
When Netflix approached us to create the official Luffy straw hat for the live-action series, we understood something immediately: this could not be a replica. A replica copies. We had to make it.
Every SUPERDUPER hat is handwoven by artisans in Italy, shaped from natural raffia — the same material a real straw hat would be made from in the world of One Piece. No plastic. No shortcuts. Each hat takes hours of hand-crafting, and each one is slightly different, because that is what happens when human hands do the work.
Eiichiro Oda — the creator of One Piece — approved the design personally. That is not a marketing line. It is the reason this hat exists and no other like it does.
The Adventure Edition: a new way to wear the Luffy hat
With Season 2, we are introducing the Adventure Edition — a new way to own the Luffy hat. The same handwoven craftsmanship, now paired with a dedicated bag designed to carry and protect it. For those who wear their hats, not just display them.
The hat itself has not changed. The straw is the same. The red ribbon is the same. What Luffy carries on his head in Season 2 is what he carried in Season 1, and what Shanks carried before him. We did not redesign it. We would not.
What we did is make it easier to take with you. Because a hat like this belongs on a journey, not on a shelf.
The only one
There are many One Piece products in the world. Figures. Shirts. Phone cases. But there is only one straw hat made in partnership with Netflix and approved by Oda. Only one that is built the way a real hat-maker would build it — with natural materials, by hand, in Florence.
That is what SUPERDUPER does. We make hats. We have been doing it since 2011. The Luffy hat is not a departure from our work. It is one of its highest expressions — a collaboration where fiction and craft meet, and neither compromises.
Season 2 is here. The Grand Line awaits. And the hat is ready.
