The Shack takes its name from late 50s surf culture, the shack was where surfers waited for the right wave. Always ready. Never in a hurry.
Handwoven paper crochet rafia, tie-dyed by hand. Each hat is unique: the dye settles differently every time, no two are ever the same. A wire runs inside the brim so you can shape it exactly the way you want, every time you wear it. Lightweight and packable: roll it into your bag, it comes back.

Handmade in Florence, Italy with a dedicated focus on quality and a mindful approach to the art of hat-making.

Paper Crochet
Our hats are designed to last a lifetime, but they of course age and wear over time. If cared for properly, they will only gain character.
Day to day: Always try to ensure your hands are clean as dirt and grease from your fingers will transfer to the hat over time.
How to clean it: Gently brush off lint and dust with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth. Avoid overly wet or fluffy fabrics. Use steam to revive a misshapen hat and always handle delicate materials with care.
What if my hat gets wet: If your hat gets wet, let it dry naturally to avoid shrinkage. Don't use a hair dryer.
Hat storage: For storage, it's ideal to keep them in our box. Avoid hanging on hooks to prevent marks.
Our hats are designed for everyone, transcending traditional gender norms. We consider them as extensions of our personalities, rather than as accessories that categorise people based on gender.
By guaranteeing worldwide shipment within 72 hours of order receipt, and with products handmade in-house by young artisans, we avoid some of the pitfalls of fast fashion such as unnecessary waste, excess inventory, and unsafe working conditions.
Shipments are made via express courier, with shipping costs calculated at checkout.
Delivery times range from 2 to 5 business days.
